St. Aloysius’ Catholic Primary School is looking to recruit a full-time Early Years or Key Stage 1 Class Teacher, for 1 year in the first instance, from September 2023. There may be an opportunity to extend this contract at the end of the 1 year period.

St. Aloysius’ Catholic Primary School is a vibrant Catholic school situated in the heart of the city of Oxford. Here we seek to find God in all that we learn and recognise him in one another. We aim to make the best use of our gifts to serve others.

We are currently looking for a candidate who will be committed to our Catholic ethos which permeates all aspects of school life. We can offer excellent support from highly skilled staff at all levels who are determined to provide the highest quality education for the children in their care.

This vacancy would be suitable for an experienced teacher or ECT. We have a long and established history of mentoring students and early career teachers.

We can offer pupils who are excited about learning, well-motivated and supported by their families.

We have a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere and are committed to outstanding pastoral care for our students. We have excellent links with our parish and benefit from the many advantages of being right in the heart of this great city.

As part of The Cherwell Partnership, we work closely together with other schools to improve our teaching and learning strategies, curriculum and support for vulnerable learners.

Our school is dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

This post involves the type of work with children and young people that requires applicants to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post. All cases are considered confidentially and according to the nature of the role and information disclosed. Online safeguarding checks will take place for shortlisted candidates.

We welcome visits to the school or alternatively you can arrange to speak to a member of the SLT (please telephone 01865 311056).

Please Note: For the right candidate, we may interview and appoint prior to the vacancy deadline.

In the first instance, please email Jo Clarke (SBM) via office.3842@st-aloysius.oxon.sch.uk for a pack of information containing:
