St. Aloysius' Catholic Primary School
“Be ambitious for the higher gifts.”1 Cor. 12:31
We are delighted to welcome you to our school website where we hope you will find all the information you need.
At St. Aloysius’ Catholic Primary School, we provide a rounded Catholic education for children from the age of 3-11 in a central Oxford location, a short distance from the city centre. Our school has a truly international dimension, with more than twenty different home languages spoken by our families.
“Here we seek to find God in all that we learn and recognise Him in one another. We aim to make the best use of our gifts to serve others.”
If you are a prospective parent, the website will give you a flavour of our school. However, to find out more, please make an appointment to visit us on a normal working day, where you will experience our calm, welcoming atmosphere and meet children who are excited and engaged in their learning.
A team of dedicated staff work hard to deliver a creative and broad curriculum and are well supported by parents and committed Governors. As a Catholic School we play a part, along with parents and the parish, in the formation of the children. We aim to set our pupils on the road to leading a virtuous life where they respond to God’s calling and become who they were made to be.
Our Mission Statement
Welcome to our school.
At St. Aloysius’ we learn to grow in holiness, to become who we were made to be.
Here we seek to know God, finding Him in all that we learn, and understanding that all that is good, beautiful and true offers us a glimpse of God.
Here we seek to love God, with our hearts, our minds and our souls, meeting Him in prayer and recognising Him in one another.
Here we seek to serve God, making the best use of our gifts to serve those around us.
Here, recognising God’s delight in us, and by His grace, we become more fully alive.
“A good school provides a rounded education for the whole person. And a good Catholic school, over and above this, should help all its students to become saints.”
School Newsletter
Newsletter – September 2023
It has been a positive start to the academic year and it has been wonderful to welcome new families to our school community, as well as to welcome back familiar faces. We started the year with a whole school Mass in the hall to celebrate Our Lady’s birthday on the 8th September. Our assemblies this half-term are focussed on the virtues of ‘Grateful and Generous’ and we are talking about ways that we can be grateful and generous, both at school and in our homes.
