Nursery Class

Dear Parents and Carers,

We are writing to inform you of an application we are making to develop existing space within St Aloysius’ to create a nursery class. We plan to adapt our current Reception and Year 1 classrooms to create a self-contained Foundation Stage unit.

We are intending to open the nursery class to three-year old children in January 2017 and would be able to offer 26 15-hour places (13 each in the morning and afternoon) for 38 weeks. We would be looking to also admit two-year olds into the nursery from September 2017.

We would be the only Catholic school in our local area to offer nursery provision and we believe the addition of a nursery class at St Aloysius’ will offer effective curriculum continuity through the foundation phase. We are confident we would be able to help relieve the sufficiency gap for Catholic nursery & pre-school provision in the area.

We are in the process of consulting with the Local Authority, other providers and the Diocese and will keep parents informed of our progress with the proposal.
