The term has got off to a good (if slightly soggy) start. The over-arching curriculum theme this term is ‘How can we express ourselves?’ so expect lots of dance and drama in the coming weeks. The termly overview for each year group are available on the school website curriculum pages where you can also find an explanation of how the ‘Creative Curriculum’ is planned at St. Aloysius’. Our Prayer and Assembly focus this term is on ‘Peace’. On Monday the children learnt about jelly babies. What on earth has that got to do with peace? I hear you ask. Well, apparently they were originally called ‘Peace Babies’ and were produced to celebrate the end of the First World War. I managed to resist the temptation to eat them all during the assembly which was something of a personal achievement. This week we also pondered the gospel story of the Baptism of the Lord.
